Dr. Francois Proulx, MD, DMD
Orthognathic & Trauma Fellow (2026-2027)
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Proulx to Colorado Oral Surgery! As our volume in orthognathic surgery has increased, we have decided to run a fellowship dedicated to mentoring board-certified / board-eligible surgeons in orthognathic, trauma, and reconstructive surgery (including surgery of the TMJ). Dr. Proulx will be joining us for a year of advanced training, and we’re excited to have him as part of the team over the next 12 months. He will be operating under the direct supervision of our surgeons, and this will allow us to increase operating room availability to expedite treatment for the complex cases that we see in our practice.
Originally from a small and remote French-Canadian community in Northern Ontario, Dr. Proulx has built an exceptional career through dedication, leadership, and a passion for helping others. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Université de Montréal, where he proudly served as President of the Dental Students’ Association throughout his dental education.
Dr. Proulx discovered his passion for oral surgery while training at the Université de Montréal Hospital, where he gained experience caring for patients with jaw and facial conditions, facial trauma and injuries, and complex surgical needs. He then completed additional hospital-based training at the Jewish General Hospital, affiliated with McGill University. Following his time in Montreal, Dr. Proulx and his young family moved to New York, where he completed advanced surgical training at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He later continued his specialty training through a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Minnesota.
In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Proulx has contributed to research focused on improving patient care, advancing surgical techniques, and exploring new approaches to jaw alignment, facial reconstruction, and jaw joint disorders. His commitment to service extends far beyond the operating room. Dr. Proulx has participated in humanitarian missions in Fiji and Mexico, where he and his team provided surgical care, helped build clean water systems, and worked with local schools to support community education.
Dr. Proulx brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and experience to our team. We are excited for our patients, referring providers, and community to benefit from his expertise during his fellowship year. Please join us in giving Dr. Proulx a warm Colorado welcome.
